THEN, WE ASKED THE FOLLOWING QUESTIONS……

What's the most exciting thing you've done? I can't decide on any one thing. When my son was born, playing at Carnegie Hall with Phoebe Snow, some great concerts with some jazz ensembles here in LA.

What is your Current Marital Status? I'm married and my wife's name is Anne.

How do you like to spend free time? I play golf now and then. I still practice a lot, if you want to call that free time. My wife and I like to do short trips around the West when we have a couple of days.

Any Children? Grandchildren? Names? Ages? My son, Holland Michael Cowger, 30 years old, lives in NYC and has a 5 year old daughter, Karas Leeanne.

Do you have any pets? We've had dogs for years. We now have a Black Lab mix, Cinder, who is the funniest and the most intelligent of any we've had.

What is your living arrangement? I have a house in Burbank, on the corner of Oak and Whitnall Highway. Great neighborhood, I know everyone for blocks around. I like it here a lot.

If you had the opportunity, what would you change since graduation? I don't regret anything but I could have spent more time learning to deal with the pressures of the music business, not that I didn't enjoy every minute of it.

Type of employment, profession, business, work, etc. that you do or have done. I've done nothing but be a professional musician. I play all the saxes, clarinets and flutes. I write, arrange, copy and play.

How many years? 4 years in the Air Force Band, 6 years at the Desert Inn in Las Vegas, moved to LA in 72, been on the road with a jillion bands, worked in the studios and played a lot of jazz gigs. Played on lots of albums/CDs.

For the girls, what is the full name of the person you are married to? N/A

From what school and class year did he graduate? N/A

I think this is wonderful. Another thing I would have changed is to stay in touch with classmates. You can never have too many friends and they are valuable. It's almost impossible to visit with anyone other than my family when I'm home and so I've lost touch with a lot of people who I remember and often wonder how they are. I really enjoy getting back in touch with people just to say hello and give them my best wishes.
